Chalk Farm, NW5

Our client’s property extended over the top two floors of this pretty Victorian terraced house. A large South facing roof terrace afforded great views across London. Initially the main task was to increase the living, kitchen and dining areas at the top floor by reducing the size of the previous (generous) roof terrace. We designed a timber clad glazed living room extension, and sought planning consent for it – which was subsequently granted by Camden Council. As the property had not been upgraded for many years the scope was extended during the technical stages to include full refurbishment of both floors, the design of a new kitchen and bespoke birch plywood furniture. There was very little useful storage in the property and we designed well considered hidden storage solutions, one of which led to reshaping the entire entrance hall.
