As a design and maker’s studio we focus on quality of design, communication & delivery, the people and places concerned to maximise the potential of given design challenges. With a combination of innovative and sustainable design, we like to add unique elements to the in- and exteriors of projects to successfully complement and benefit their settings – and in turn add value for our clients. Be it maximising floor space, securing planning and/ or building control consent, incorporating smart building or home management, fully integrated renewable energy solutions or the very special and crafted cabinetry. Studio VK, founded in 2017, is fully equipped with the latest architectural 3D & BIM/ CAD software and computer hardware for an efficient and maximised workflow. Design development by hand in sketch format or on the traditional drawing board is also still an integral part of our design evolution.

Director

Ulf Vollmer-König, Dipl.-Eng. Architect (FH), ARB, AKNW.

Fully qualified Architect in the UK and Germany. Registered with the ARB and the Architectural Chamber AKNW in Germany. Studied at the University of Applied Sciences Detmold and the Arnsberg College of Art, both in Germany. Ulf also has a German degree in fine joinery. Some of his more recent work may be presented via Instagram Stories.

With over 25 years experience in the design & construction industry, including working as a cabinet maker and the architectural education, Ulf is very committed to a rigorous design evolution, design quality and an excellent delivery for all involved. Our director’s main drivers are rational, clean and sustainable design. In previous years Ulf has successfully run his first architectural practice United Architecture Ltd. in London from 2012 to 2017. Before that he has worked as an Architect at Levitt Bernstein Architects, Ryder Architecture, RyderHKS and Stanley Bragg in the UK, and Kohlbecker Architects in Germany, mainly delivering large scale public building projects.
